The Countdown to Valentine's Day

WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR VALENTINE’S DAY?

If Valentine’s Day is already circled on your calendar with a big red heart, chances are that you are ahead of the curve and have selected the perfect bouquet, booked the restaurant, contacted the babysitter and made a pact with the Almighty for it not to snow/rain/flood or hail on the day.

If, however, you are in the same boat as the other 99%, Valentines Day may seem more of an obstacle course, full of unexploded mines, so tread carefully.  Some useful pointers for the lead up to Valentine’s Day (or not):

Listen - carefully.  The clues are almost always out there if you really listen.

Fix that squeaky door, wobbly table, blocked drain etc that you’ve been avoiding for months.

Have the house cleaned from top to bottom.

Fold and put away the laundry.

Cook meals - together.

Bring home flowers not just on V-day but any day.

Dance to the song you played for your first dance.

Book a table at the Dot 2 Dot Inn for Valentine’s Day so that no one has to do the washing up.

And before anyone says ‘Why do I have to do all the work?’ the list is non-gender specific so if you thought it was only about him/her, then that’s on you!

At the Dot 2 Dot Inn we will be offering a 3 course meal for you and your significant other, or bring friends if you’re not into the lovey, dovey stuff.  I’ll leave you with this quote as I couldn’t have said it any better myself.

“I don’t understand why Cupid was chosen to represent Valentine’s Day. When I think about romance, the last thing on my mind is a short, chubby toddler coming at me with a weapon.”– Author Unknown
